The Port at Wolf Spring, Fennbirn, Saturday Morning Fandom-time

In the days and weeks that followed the end of the Queens' War, as it would come to be called, many changes took place in the capital and across the island. Jules recovered, with help from Arsinoe and Emilia, and learned to walk with a crutch. The legion curse had indeed disappeared, and she was herself again, while both of her gifts were allowed to flourish. She as yet wore no crown, but everyone called her the Legion Queen.

Neither she nor her council took up immediate residence at the Volroy. The grand towers seemed too representative of the queens gone by, and Jules and the rebellion had no interest in repeating the mistakes and corruption of the past. The line of the triplet queens had strayed too far off course, and now the time of triplet queens had ended. And besides, she had schooling to complete on another strange little island.

ExpandThe ship rocked slightly in the water as the last of the supplies were brought onboard. )

Fennbirn, Friday Fandom-time

ExpandCamden prowled the border of Jules and Rho's contest ground... )
[ooc: lifted pretty much wholesale from Five Dark Fates by Kendare Blake. I meant to do a whole canon-catchup Thing with the last two books over the last few weeks but uh. My brain was not cooperating. So here, have this and pretend like you've any idea who all of these NPCs even are or what the fuck's going on. Also, warning for mentions of animal death and amputation.]

The Coast Near the Preserve, Tuesday Morning

Juillenne had been rowing for what felt like days, ever since she'd decided to turn around and head back to Fennbirn. Logically, she knew it couldn't have been that long, but the mist that separated her island home from the rest of the world had a way of muddling things. On the way out, after all, it had sent that terrible storm, the one that had-

No. She wasn't going to think about Joseph right now. She couldn't.

Bringing her boat ashore and hauling it up out of the reach of the tide, she looked around with a frown. Sure, she wasn't the most well-traveled resident of Wolf Spring, but she still knew Fennbirn fairly well. And this terrain- this was nothing like Fennbirn.

"Cam," Jules said to her companion, a tawny mountain cat that traipsed along beside her. "I don't know what's going on, but I'm not sure I like it."

[ooc: for two! and much SP.]
